Message From CRA's President
Glen Phares, CRA President
I am honored to serve as your president and thank the members of the association for the opportunity. I am proud to say that I am a third generation business owner, something that is becoming increasingly rare in our industry and others. I have grown up in the business and worked in all facets of it. From cleaning and painting scaffolding when I was a young boy to many numerous weekends behind a very busy rental counter, eventually working my way through school and managing three of our company’s branches. I learned about the CRA as well during this time. I have attended many conventions and chapter meetings with my father and thoroughly enjoyed them all. The opportunities to network and share ideas are fantastic and extremely valuable. The reason that I ran for the board was to have the opportunity to learn from some of the veterans of this industry. The knowledge I have garnered has been invaluable. I consider it a great investment in myself and my business.
Volunteering for the association has been a very good experience for me. I would encourage those of you who have considered running for a board position to do so. Your service will be rewarding. I also would encourage all CRA members to actively participate in the association through chapter meetings or even committee membership. You will gain both professionally and personally. The CRA after all is here for you! We are at your service. The more input we receive from you the better we can serve your needs in the future.
I look forward to the upcoming year and our Rental Rally in March. The 2007 Rental Rally was a big success for both the members and our vendors. The format is simple and inexpensive which I feel is appropriate for the times we are in. The upcoming year will present challenges as well as opportunities for all of us. The CRA will be here to help you with the services you need or questions you have to improve and grow your business. Take the time to participate. It has certainly been more than worthwhile for me.
