CRA President Alex DuBose Picked for Legislative Award!

The Chico Enterprise Record reported on June 13th that Alex DuBose, owner of Rental Guys in Chico, has been chosen by state Assemblyman Dan Logue to receive the 2012 Small Business of the Year for Logue's district.

DuBose was chosen from the array of small businesses in the Third Assembly District because of his success and ability to grow during a hard economy.

"I'm flattered by the award," said DuBose on Tuesday, who also employs 30-something employees among the various yards.
At the age of 21, DuBose took over the daily operations of Rental Guys in Chico, from his father. Over the last 17 years, he has expanded the business from the single store into a chain with locations in Gridley, Red Bluff, Redding and Susanville.
DuBose said he's been able to be successful in tough times, expanding over the past four years during the recession.
The stores provide an array of construction, building and farm equipment.

DuBose is an active member of Chico Rotary and the current president of the California Rental Association, Logue noted.
"He is constantly giving back to the community," Logue noted.

The Small Business of the Year awards are sponsored and hosted by the California Small Business Association.
The only criteria for the award is that the business meet the U.S. Small Business Administration's definition of a small business and be in the legislator's district, according to Logue representative Cliff Wagner.
