CRA Executive Director Dale Blackwell Entered into Eternal Life
Dale was a well respected member, on the board of directors, and officer of California Rental Association (CRA) for 17 years. Dale was also the Chairman of the Insurance Committee with CRA for 14 years. In 2006 he became the Executive Director of CRA until his passing.

On April 15th 2020, Dale Wayne Blackwell entered into eternal life at age 65 due to complications from a severe traumatic brain injury.
He is survived by his parents, Gene & Betty, his wife of 36 years Victoria and his five children, Kerri Costarella (John), Scott, Jeffery, Randall (Alison), and Jena. As well as his three younger siblings Bob, Dianne, and Christine and several nieces and nephews and four grandchildren.
Dale was born on August 16th 1954 in Santa Monica, California. He moved to Sacramento at the age of four to help start the family rental business, Aba Daba Rents. In 2000, Dale and Bob became second generation owners of Aba Daba Rents. Dale was a well respected member, on the board of directors, and officer of California Rental Association (CRA) for 17 years. Dale was also the Chairman of the Insurance Committee with CRA for 14 years. In 2006 he became the Executive Director of CRA until his passing.
Dale had a passion for football. Every Sunday was spent in church and then watching The Oakland Raiders or any NFL game on TV. He loved fishing and would spend a month in the fall in Oregon fishing for Salmon. Dale loved spending time traveling, whether that be by plane or with his fifth wheel trailer. He loved all animals and thoroughly enjoyed the company of his fur children Leila and Jack. He loved watching his grandchildren and spending time with family. Dale was known for his infectious laugh, amazing advice, and his kind and generous spirit.
Due to the current risks of Covid-19, we will be hosting a celebration of life later this year. Details are to follow once the risk is lower. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rental Services Industry Foundation (RSIF) or to your local animal shelter.
